What Is LED Strip?

Light strip is the abbreviation of LED light strip. Most people are not used to the long noun when they say it, so they omit the front led and call it light strip directly. In this way, the name of the light strip also includes many old-fashioned light strips that used to connect LEDs directly with wires instead of FPC or PCB, such as large second line, large third line, round second line, and so on. Of course, it also includes flexible light strip and hard light strip.

LED Strip

 This is the English name of LED band. "Strip" is translated as "strip" in Yahoo and "small strip" in Google, but the term of LED strip in foreign customers' mouth is led strip

Flex LED Strip

 This is the English name of flexible LED light band. Flex translates as "flexible" in Google, but "conducting wire" in Yahoo. But foreign customers said flex LED strip is what we call flexible LED strip in China.

 This is the English term for LED light bar. Light bar is translated as "light belt" in Yahoo, but it is translated as "light bar" in Google.

There are two kinds of LED light strips: Flexible LED light strip and hard LED light strip, but they usually include old-fashioned LED light strips connected with wires, such as flat three wire 4.3w/m, flat four wire 6.48w/m, flat five wire 8.64w/m, etc.

1. FPC is used as the assembly circuit board for flexible LED light strip, and SMD LED is used for assembly, so that the thickness of the product is only 0.1cm, which does not occupy space; the general specifications are 30cm long 18 LEDs, 24 LEDs, 50cm long 15 LEDs, 24 LEDs, 30 LEDs, etc. There are 60cm, 80cm and so on. Different users have different specifications. And can be cut at will, can also be arbitrarily extended without affecting the light. The FPC material is soft and can be bent, folded and wound at will. It can move and stretch freely in three-dimensional space without breaking. It is suitable for irregular places and narrow space, and it can be bent and wound at will, so it is suitable for any combination of various patterns in advertising decoration.

2. Led hard light strip is assembled with PCB hard board. LED can be assembled with chip LED or plug-in led. Different components are used according to different needs. The advantage of hard light strip is that it is easy to fix, convenient to process and install; the disadvantage is that it can't bend at will, and it's not suitable for irregular places. There are 18 LEDs, 24 LEDs, 30 LEDs, 36 LEDs, 40 LEDs and other specifications for hard light strip; there are 18 LEDs, 24 LEDs, 36 LEDs, 48 LEDs and other specifications for direct plug-in LEDs, including both front and side lights, and the side lights are also called Great Wall light strip.

Scope of application

LED light strip and LED light strip have been widely used in furniture, automobile, advertisement, lighting, ship, bar and other industries.

Installation method

① The width of the four wire lamp is about 22mm, the thickness is about 8mm, and the weight is about 0.25kg/m (4m 1kg)

② There are four wires in the four wire lamp belt, three rows of lamps (note not four rows of lamps ~ ~), each row of 1 m 24 lamps, 24 * 3 = 72. Because the power of each lamp bead is 0.05W, the power of 72 bead lamp belt is 72 * 0.05 = 3.6W.

③ Each meter has a "scissors" mark, which can only be cut when the mark is cut. Wrong or partial cutting will cause one meter to be dark! Some of them may be missed when marking. It's better to carefully look at the position of the mark before cutting and cut it according to the place not connected in the middle. If you look carefully, you can see it.

④ Each lamp strip must be equipped with a special plug (plug with transformer); when connecting, the transparent plastic cover plate must be removed, and then it can be covered after the test lamp is connected. Do not connect directly with cover, it is easy to short circuit.

⑤ When the lamp strip is installed, it is generally placed in the lamp slot, and it can be placed straight, or it can be fixed with string or thin iron wire. If you need external or vertical installation, you need to purchase additional clips and tail plugs. The original clip is completely transparent. It is better to apply waterproof glass glue on the tail plug and plug after installation, so that the waterproof performance is better.
